Commercial Dry Ice Blasting Master Agreement & Quality SLA
Non-Destructive Cryogenic Surface Cleaning Terms, Zero Secondary Media Waste & OSHA Gas Protocols
PROTOCOL v2026.1
1. Non-Destructive Substrate Cleaning Guarantee
Contractor utilizes solid high-density carbon dioxide (CO2) micro-pellets accelerated by compressed air. Because dry ice pellets sublimate immediately upon kinetic impact into harmless CO2 gas with a soft Mohs hardness of 1.5–2.0, Contractor guarantees zero etching, warping, or dimensional distortion of the underlying base substrate (aluminum, carbon fiber, electrical wiring, or historic masonry).
2. Zero Secondary Waste & Environmental Remediation
Unlike traditional sand, garnet, walnut shell, or soda blasting, dry ice blasting introduces zero secondary grit media into bearings, seals, or production equipment. Cleanup is strictly confined to the dislodged contaminant debris (grease, carbon soot, fire damage char, or mold spores), captured via HEPA negative air containment.
3. OSHA Confined Space CO2 Monitoring & Ventilation Standards
When performing interior or confined space operations, Contractor establishes continuous positive pressure fresh air ventilation and deploys calibrated multi-gas digital monitors. CO2 concentration shall not exceed the OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 5,000 ppm TWA. Technicians wear supplied-air respirators (SAR) where required.
4. Electrical De-Energization & High-Voltage Equipment Protocol
Dry ice media is electrically non-conductive. However, for energized industrial switchgear or motor stator cleanings, formal lock-out / tag-out (LOTO) protocols shall be established in coordination with facility plant engineering to prevent static discharge arc flashes.
5. Commercial Pricing Structure, Mobilization & Payment Terms
Service is billed on an agreed hourly rate (inclusive of diesel compressor fuel, mobile blasting applicator, and certified blast technicians) plus actual CO2 pellet consumption recorded on scale weight tickets. Invoicing is Net 30 from final job completion sign-off.
